Tiqets Announces Consumers' Top Museums & Attractions to Visit in 2021

Amsterdam, 25 January 2021 - Tiqets, an online ticketing platform for museums and attractions announced the 7 global winners of the ‘Remarkable Venue Awards; Global Winners’ competition. The best museums and attractions in Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, the UK & Ireland, and the US, revealed during the Remarkable Venue Awards last month, went head to head to compete in a first-ever, worldwide consumer’s choice round of voting.

Tiqets, an online ticketing platform for museums and attractions, announces the 2020 Remarkable Venue Awards: Global Winners based on more than 6,500 consumer votes this month.

The nominees for this global award were the 42 regional award winners in 7 categories announced at the Remarkable Venue Awards in December. These venues in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK & Ireland, and the US were awarded based on the highest-rated visitor reviews on Tiqets.com in their region, and for two application-based awards, through an assessment by a panel of independent industry judges.

These are the 2020 Remarkable Venue Award: Global Winners:

Best Museum 2020: Van Gogh Museum (NL)

This award recognizes the best-rated museums and art galleries based on Tiqets’ visitor reviews in 2020.

Most Remarkable Venue 2020: Sagrada Familia (SP)

This award recognizes the most popular venues that have both drawn the largest crowds and received the highest-rated visitor reviews on Tiqets in 2020.

Best Landmark 2020: Palazzo Ducale di Venezia (IT)

This award recognizes the best-rated cathedrals, churches, castles, palaces, historical or iconic landmarks based on Tiqets’ visitor reviews in 2020.

Best Onsite Experience 2020: Catacombs di San Gennaro (IT)

This award recognizes the venues that are best rated for their onsite experience, based on Tiqets’ visitor reviews of staff interaction and information at the venue in 2020.

Best Attraction 2020: Parco Giardino Sigurtà (SP)

This award recognizes the best-rated attractions (including theme parks, zoos and aquariums) based on Tiqets’ visitor reviews in 2020.

Most Innovative Venue 2020: Circo Maximo Experience (IT)

This award recognizes the venues that responded quickly and creatively to new challenges resulting from the COVID-19 crisis.

Best Hidden Gem 2020: Paris Musées: Musée de la vie Romantique (FR)

This award recognizes unique, niche attractions that are likely to have been hit hardest by the COVID-19 crisis.

This is the first time a global winner in these categories has been announced, a move to celebrate the industry after a tough year and inspire visitors to return to culture once it is safe in 2021. All global winners will receive a marketing package from Tiqets worth €10K to recover strong in 2021, including original content creation and dedicated promotion to Tiqets’ audience of 12M ticket buyers.

2021 is the year to get back to travel and culture. And although people may not be able to travel far today, the 2020 Remarkable Venue Awards: Global Winners are museums & attractions that should be at the top of everyone’s list to visit as soon as they are able to.
